Robin Schaefer
Robin Schaefer is a Denver native who has been exhibiting in the community since 2003. Schaefer uses traditional oil painting techniques in order to execute work that is complex and alluring, exposing luminous subtle yet vivid details. She paints organic objects that are often isolated on the canvas or that are paired with hardware such as nails and screws.

These works are provocative in that they expose a profound sense of imperfection. According to the artist, "In disclosing these details in larger than life works I feel I am creating a metaphor that is powerful and identifiable, allowing an intimate connection to form with the viewer. For me this is re-confirming that my connections to others and to the world around me, is made up of these subtle and yet exposed details."

Schaefer is represented by Plus Gallery in Denver and maintains a studio at Ironton, both of which are cornerstones of the River North Arts District. She was selected for inclusion in the 2007 Western Edition of New American paintings, and her work is in several prominent local collections including First Western Trust Bank.
